Mischievous children kill birds, destroy their nests, and break their eggs. Sometimes, they pay for their cruelty with their lives because instead of grabbing eggs or small birds from the hollow of a tree, they may catch a hidden poisonous snake that bites them, causing them to suffer greatly. Some may also step on a rotten branch, which breaks, and they fall, getting injured.

It is a great sin to kill useful birds and destroy their nests because these little creatures eliminate billions of beetles, worms, caterpillars, and other insects that cause enormous damage to fruits and crops and spread various diseases.
