Letters to and from, or regarding Nikola Tesla

December 20th, 1899 letter from George Scherff to Nikola Tesla

New York, Dec. 20th, 1899
46 & 48 E. Houston Street

Nikola Tesla, Esq.,
Colorado Springs, Colo.

Dear Mr. Tesla:

The work of the shop is on the insulation of the armature, stationary shaft casting, building of condenser parts, spark rods and on the condenser case of the oscillator.

Mr. Uhlman says four of the stationary shaft castings, after being turned down, have proved to be full of blow holes, which cause them to leak. The two remaining castings will be tried, but in the mean time more castings have been ordered from another foundry. Mr. Uhlman regrets the delay occasioned hereby, but says that otherwise the work on the new oscillator is progressing as rapidly as possible.

Respectfully,
Geo. Scherff
