Pittsburg. Oct. 13. — A United States court decision of great importance to the electrical business was handed down yesterday by Judge McPherson of Philadelphia. The case was brought by the Tesla Electrical company against the Scott & Janey company, and involves the great patents of Nikola Tesla embodying the principle of the polyphase motors which are so important in all long distance power transmission schemes. The opinion of Judge McPherson was broadly in favor of the Tesla patents. These patents are owned and controlled by the Westinghouse Electric company of this city.
