Asked to Turn on the Current

Frank W. Hawley extended to Governor Morton an invitation to officiate at the opening of the National Exposition of Electrical Appliances, to be held in the Grand Central Palace, New York City, May 5.

The Governor's part in the event will be the turning on of a current of electricity generated at the Falls of Niagara, and transmitted 468 miles over one of the commercial mains of the Western Union Telegraph Company. The new Tesla system of long distance transmission will be employed
