Tesla's Claims More Advanced Than His Demonstrations

The Patent Office has made public the wireless telegraphy claims filed by Tesla several months ago. Using his previously patented "Electric Oscillator" to produce the power, he transmits it to the sending station, which is to be a captive balloon riding five or six miles high. When radiated through the air at a pressure of several millions of volts, Tesla claims the fluid has properties and characteristics that may be transmitted miles through the rarefied atmosphere. His receiving stations are also to be captive balloons connected by wire to the earth. Tesla claims that power may also be transmitted in the same manner. It must, however, be conceded that Tesla's claims are much farther advanced than are his demonstrations.
