Columbia Professor Tells Court How Marconi Found Radio.

"Mr. Marconi's discovery of wireless telegraphy was due to an accident," said Professor Pupin of Columbia University, testifying today before Judge Van Vechten Veeder in the United States District Court for the defense in the hearing of the suit for infringment of patents, brought by the Marconi Wireless Telegraph Company of America, against the Atlantic Communication Company.

"As a boy, when working for Regglo, he grounded both wires just for fun, and then discovered that he could send messages without wires. Before Marconi's discovery, however, Nikola Tesla had solved the problem of wireless, so Mr. Marconi is not, after all, the original inventor."
