Wizards to Exhibit Wonderful Devices in Grand Central Palace.
Inventors of high and low degree, from the perpetual motion cranks to Edison, Tesla, Westinghouse, Steinmetz, Cooper Hewitt, Marconi and Bleriot, will show their achievements to the public in the New Grand Central Palace from April 13 to 20 in the newly organized Inventions Show. It will be a congress of inventors conducted for the education of the public and the direct meeting of manufacturer and consumer.
One aim of the Inventions Show is to put inventors in touch with capital. Geniuses with ideas needing money for development will exhibit their devices. The floor space and scientific arrangement of the New Grand Central Palace make it possible to assemble what is expected to be the greatest exhibition of inventive genius ever gathered together.
Edison will show his many inventions, from cement houses to storage batteries, giant motors, electric lights, talking machines and motion picture marvels. Tesla and Augustine will show their rival rotary steam engines, which generate many horsepower in machines the size of a coffee pot. Westinghouse will exhibit the many wonders of his vast achievement. The General Electric Company will reveal the triumphs wrought by its inventive wizard, Steinmetz.
Marconi will demonstrate the newest methods of wireless, and the Wright brothers, Curtis, Bleriot and Grahame-White will show aeroplanes and aeroplane engines. An aeroplane sleigh driven by a big propeller across the snowy prairies will be a novelty. Novelties in automobiles and their accessories will be shown. Office workers will be interested in the noiseless typewriter and the dictagraph.
One inventor has taken space for a device that locates oil and minerals, while another will exhibit an apparatus for registering unspoken thought. A specimen of about everything new, novel and interesting in mechanics will be shown.
