NIKOLA TESLA, "the famous electrical expert," denounces the purchase by the Subway folk of the equipment now in use in the big tube. Mr. Tesla's position is clearly explained thus: "The motors should be replaced by my induction motors, perfectly free from the innumerable troubles the present devices entail." No, gentle reader, this is not a part of an advertisement. The passage quoted occurs in an article on a news page under what is technically termed "a spread head." Mr. Tesla is best known as "the man who didn't."
