Improves Electrical Oscillator to Produce Cheap "X" Rays.
Nikola Tesla has made a discovery which, it is believed, will revolutionize methods of illumination and be of infinite use. He has perfected new electric oscillators based on one of his discoveries made six years ago. By their means Tesla is now able to produce economical electric vibrations to a frequency of many millions a second from ordinary currents, either alternating or direct. These oscillators do away entirely with induction coils. Any electric pressure is available. Tesla says that they furnish ideal means for the reproduction of Roentgen rays, which are thereby rendered incomparably more powerful.
Dr. J. Mount Meyer, of New York City, has invented an instrument for photographing sound vibrations in the atmosphere. He considers the invention of equal importance with the discovery of the Roentgen rays. Dr. Meyer was associated with Mr. Edison in perfecting the phonograph, and it was then that he conceived the idea of recording the vibrations of the human voice by means of photography.
