Nikola Tesla Settles Debt on Wardenclyffe

Nikola Tesla, the electrical expert, who hopes to get in communication with the dwellers on the planet Mars, has settled the debt of $1,108 for which the sheriff had levied on his big steel tower, and will at once resume operations. Tesla has a tract of land at Wardenclyffe, Suffolk county, L. I., on which he has spent thousands of dollars in erecting the tower and other buildings. The foundations of the tower are said to extend, well-like, to a depth of nearly 300 feet. It is through electrical vibrations from this tower that Tesla believes he can send messages to Mars. He claims to have discovered that the canals on Mars are of artificial construction and are used for transportation purposes. If he can get an interview with the superintendent of public works there, he may get some valuable pointers for the barge canal builders here.
