NEW YORK, Feb 22 — (AP) — Patents on a helicopter-airplane, which would have a wing spread of only eight feet and weigh 500 pounds, have been taken out by Nikola Tesla, pioneer wireless expert experimenter, his attorneys have announced here.

His plane would take off vertically as a helicopter and then by mechanical means would be turned in the air until the lifting propeller would be at right angles to its climbing position and draw the machine through the air laterally or at any other angle the operator wished. It would be powered by a turbine engine capable of developing tremendous power for short periods.
