A paper read by Mr. Nikola Tesla at a meeting of the Electro-Therapeutic Society in Buffalo not long ago, suggesting a method of killing disease germs in the human body by means of static electricity, has again been brought to public notice by the rumor that a New York attorney was a day or two ago in Washington filing with the Patent Office the necessary papers for protecting the invention. In a word, Mr. Tesla’s idea is to apply a current at several millions of volts to the surface of the body, and by oxidizing the tissue kill all bacilli that may be present. The details of the process, as for instance how Mr. Tesla proposes to produce such a high potential current and how it would be applied for curative purposes, has as yet not been made public.
