Strollers Club to Entertain
Second Annual Ladies' Day on Friday at the Waldorf-Astoria.
The second annual Ladies' Day of the Strollers' Club will be observed Friday afternoon with a reception in the ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria. The membership of the club, which was modeled after the famous Tavern and St. Botolph Clubs of Boston, is made up largely of clubmen who are amateur patrons of the stage. A number of society women have been invited to act as chaperons at Friday's reception, and many well-known actresses will serve the refreshments.
Among the chaperons will be Mrs. Edmund L. Baylies, Mrs. Lloyd Bryce, Miss Callender, Miss De Forest, Mrs. Henry Clews, Mrs. Brockholst Cutting, Mrs. John Drexel, Mrs. William A. Duer, Mrs. Reginald De Koven, Mrs. Oliver Harriman, Jr., Mrs. T. A. Havemeyer, Mrs. R. M. Hunt, Mrs. C. Oliver Iselin, Mrs. Adolph Ladenburg, Mrs. Hermann Oelrichs, Mrs. Almeric Paget, Mrs. T. J. Oakley Rhinelander, Mrs. Burke-Roche, Mrs. J. Lee Trailer, and Mrs. Stanford White.
The actresses who will pour tea are Miss Julia Arthur, Miss Marie Burroughs, Mrs. Bloodgood, Miss Blanche Bates, Miss Ida Conquest, Miss Dorothy Donnelly, Miss Maxine Elliott, Mrs. Fiske, Mrs. G. H. Gilbert, Miss Grace George, Miss Isabel Irving, Miss May Irwin, Miss Ada Lewis, Miss Julia Marlowe, Mrs. Le Moyne, Mrs. Richard Mansfield, Miss Annie Russell, Mme. Mareelle Sembrich, Miss Ellen Terry, and Miss Elsie De Wolfe.
