Tesla Sued by the Colorado Springs Electric Company

Nikola Tesla, the famous electrical expert, whose experiment station on Knob Hill has furnished material for queries on the part of visitors here during the past few years, is the defendant in a suit instituted in the county court yesterday by the Colorado Springs Electric company. The suit is brought to secure judgment for $180, said to be due for electrical energy furnished Tesla from June 1, 1903, to March 31, 1904. Tesla himself has not been in Colorado Springs for three years and the sheriff's office is trying to locate him for the service of the papers.

Tesla erected his experiment station for the purpose of perfecting his apparatus for the transmission of telegraphic messages without wires. Recently Tesla was sent a bill by the city for water furnished the station. In his novel reply he said that inasmuch as he had graced this city with his presence and had erected an experimental station here, he considered that the city should donate all the water used at the station. — The Gazette.

Wednesday Tesla's experiment station on Knob Hill was attached and will be sold under the hammer in five days if the 8180 due the Electric company is not forthcoming.
