Nikola Tesla Articles
The Teslian - Vol. I, No. 8 Page 4
OF CURRENT INTEREST
September issue of Popular Science Monthly contains a novel mechanics home building article entitled "Cardboard Blower Works Like Tesla's Lost Turbine." Written by Walter E. Burton of Akron, Ohio, the article describes how to con- struct a simple fan blower operating on the Tesla spiral-flow turbine principle.
In a letter to the Tesla Society Mr. Burton stated his interest, like that of many others, stems from boyhood days when exploits of Dr. Tesla stimulated the imagination. Mr. Burton is pleased to know there exists an organization that keeps alive interest in Dr. Tesla's work.
After the long void since his death in 1943, a few articles have recently appeared on Tesla's behalf. This has been observed as anticipation of the Tesla Centennial celebration next year.
The following three pages are the cover reproduction and two introductory pages of "Transmission of Power--- Polyphase System---Tesla Patents" published in 1893 by the Westinghouse Company. Concluding paragraph of the introduction is of particular interest as acknowledgement of Tesla's fundamental polyphase patents.
