This coating is of the heavy foil used by florists and may be obtained in strips 48 inches long and 6 inches wide at almost any florist's shop. It comes in packages of one pound and averages some five strips to the package. The foil should be straightened out and cut off into rectangles 6 by 8 inches in size in order that when secured to the glass it will leave a margin of an inch all around. (See Fig. 14.) The condenser is made up into units of ten plates each and each plate is to be coated on both sides with the tinfoil. In all there will be 12 units connected up as shown in Fig. 13, that is, two sets of six units each connected seriesmultiple. To coat the plates the builder should provide a lump of beeswax and a "pounce" made by enclosing a wad of cotton within a soft cloth. A warm plate is taken from the oven and laid upon a cloth-covered table top. The lump
