Nikola Tesla Books
- Teslaâs radio experiments date back to 1891, and over the course of more than six years, he systematically built devices that led to complete success.
From descriptions of various patents from this time, we know that Tesla, for his experiments with high-frequency currents, primarily utilized oscillators working with a rotating spark, which proved to be the most perfect in producing radio waves.
In this radio station itself, Tesla succeeded in setting in motion a whole series of electrical circuits over a great distance from the transmitting station. This success led him in 1897 to the idea of controlling the movement of ships and other objects at a distance using radio waves. But, as we have seen, Tesla immediately proceeded to conduct experiments. He did the same on this occasion. In that same year, he made plans for a small boat and constructed it, equipping it with accumulators, propeller-driving motors, rudders, and receiving apparatus to operate various parts.
These devices were placed in the boat within special electrical circuits, which he set in motion by waves of a specific length. The circuits were so sensitive that even a slight difference in wavelength was enough to activate the respective apparatus. These apparatuses also had to be meticulously crafted because the slightest error in such movements could
