He was born to a Serbian mother, 'nourished with Serbian milk and lullabies with Serbian songs.'
He lives far away across the sea, in a foreign land, in America. However, in his heart is deeply embedded the love for the homeland, mother Yugoslavia, and equal love for Serbians, Croatians, and Slovenians, for all Yugoslavians. He equally loves our other Slavic brothers: Russians, Bulgarians, Czechoslovaks, and Poles. In all people, he sees his brothers, and there are no borders for him, just as his works know no borders. He creates for the good of the whole world, and his inventions have become the property of all nations.
But he says that in this creation, the dearest thing to him of all is that these creations are the work of a Serbian-Yugoslavian, and he emphasizes that he is proud of the name of his nation.
He further says: âI am a Serb, but therefore I am also a Croatian, for we are one.â Indeed, the greatest happiness for our nation and state would be if every Serb and every Croatian spoke and felt this way, for truly, all Serbs are Croatians, and all Croatians are Serbs. No one sees the truth better than our great Uncle Nikola Tesla. Great and eternal are his works, and so too is his heart kind and noble.
