The Suffering of Teslaâs Parents
Teslaâs parents wanted him to become a priest
We have seen that Nikola is the son of an Orthodox Serbian priest and that the priestly family MandiÄ, from which his mother was born, produced several spiritual figures.
The priestly life of his parents and ancestors, in the spirit of Orthodox Christian faith, instilled a good soul and noble heart in young Nikola.
Therefore, it is an undeniable merit of the Serbian Orthodox Church that the greatest genius, Nikola Tesla, a rarely good and noble-hearted person, who has worked for the progress of the whole world throughout the century, emerged. This Christian selfless love for others, deeply rooted in his great Slavic soul, gave him supernatural strength, endurance, and perseverance in continuous work and discovery. It is, therefore, a great fortune for the whole world that the greatest genius of the world is simultaneously a rare noble and selfless person.
But Nikolaâs parents could not have known or predicted that their only child would become the greatest inventor in the world. His father greatly loved his high priestly calling and wanted to continue the tradition of his priestly family. So, he dreamed that his son, Nikola, would become a priest. However, this wish of Teslaâs father did not come true. Nikola had another wish.
