August 28th, 1899 letter from George Scherff to Nikola Tesla

Dear Mr. Tesla:

Your check for $100 for laboratory expenses was received this morning. After paying the men there remains cash on hand $22.97.

The work of the shop continues on the commutator, shaft, armature, field magnets and minor parts of the third break and development of the pump. Mr. Uhlman says he is working out the details of the oscillator with overflow feature.

The inclosed letter was received to-day. As it comes from a journal, I was diffident about answering it.
