Nikola Tesla Letters
December 12th, 1899 letter from George Scherff to Nikola Tesla
New York, Dec. 12th, 1899
46 & 48 E. Houston Street
Nikola Tesla, Esq.,
Colorado Springs, Colo.
Dear Mr. Tesla:
The work of the shop to-day is on the pulley, commutator, switchboard, spark rod support and other contact connections of the oscillator.
I beg to inquire again, if it will not be necessary soon to take some steps in regard to the corporation tax of the N. T. Company. In a pamphlet containing a copy of the tax law of the State of New York, which has been addressed to you here, I read that, if a report is not made until the 15th day of January, the Comptroller will appraise the property and fix the taxes accordingly, and, besides all charges, a fine of one hundred dollars will be imposed.
Perhaps the matter has been attended to directly from Colorado, and in that case I beg pardon for my officiousness.
Respectfully,
Geo. Scherff
