Letters to and from, or regarding Nikola Tesla

October 13th, 1899 letter from Nikola Tesla to George Scherff

Colorado Springs, Oct. 13, 1899

Dear Mr. Scherff,

The inclosed checks for Mr. Unger. Please get me the little book on The Transmission de l'energie electrique sans fil. It is probably some rot, but I am interested in the title.

Your did not write whether Mr. Loewenstein has left for good. I could not have quite endorsed the certificate as you wrote it, for you know he was strictly speaking not employed in my laboratory, and as to his thorough technical history, it would have been difficult for me to testify to this, as his experience was very limited. But perhaps it was not bad that you wrote it as you did for I still think him to be honorable, although I had damaging evidence. At any rate I would not have liked to let him part with bad feelings for of course he knows a number of my ideas and plans. I am in good health and more than ever happy over the prospect of my work, which has been most gratifying since I am alone.

Do everything you can intelligently, keeping the interest of my efforts in view, and be particularly careful to any press representatives. I do not want you to say anything except what I state here. I think when I come home I should have something to say to my friends.

Tell Uhlman to stick hard to the work in the shop. You must all be as a part of myself, then I shall pull you with me to success.

Sincerely,
N. Tesla
