32 Hon. Commissioner of Patents, Sir:- Room 87 In the Matter of the Application of Nikola Tesla, No. 483,562, Filed August 19, 1893, Electric Generators. Since the writing of the office letter of November 6, we have had a personal interview with the examiner in charge of this case, in which we pointed out the peculiar and important feature which distinguishes the combination of the claims objected to. In view of this interview we desire to present the application for reconsideration without further amendment and to submit the following statement. Claims 1 and 2are distinctly limited to an engine having a piston free to move under the incluence of ste am or a gas under pressure. This is the vital and essential feature of applicant's invention and the references. contain no suggestion of such an engine. Wherever an engine has been employed, either directly or indirectly it has always been provided with same special form of mechanical regulator, a fly wheel, or some moving system of great inertia. Upon the period of such an engine the period of electrical vibation could obviously have no appreciable effect. Claim 3 we do not think is open to the objection
