106 We are not sure that we clearly apprehend the first suggestion of the Office letter of May 5th, but would state that for purpo ses cf illustration we have now desi gnated the vertical lines A' A' as a main circuit, and the lines A" A" as a branch taken from the mains at any point. This branch is completed through the choking coils, the conductors K, K, and the mechanism of the controller, and constitutes the charging circui t. It will be understood that the primary of the transformer is very short, and for practical purposes may consti tute simply a section of the conductor forming the branch into inductive relation with which the secondary L is brought. The circuit supplied by the secondary is the work-circuit", and as the secondary may be located at any point in the primary circuit, the "point at which the work circuit is. tak en off", strictly speaking, is purely arbitrary. We have amended the descriptive parts of the specification, and given instructions to have the proper lettering inserted. Reconsideration is requested. Respectfully, Kere, Center age att p. -2
