Buffalo Will Celebrate the Transmission of Electric Power.

Buffalo, N. Y., Dec. 5. — A banquet is to be given here at an early date by the Cataract Power and Conduit Company to celebrate the accomplishment of the scheme to utilize Niagara Falls electric power for commercial purposes in this city. The details are not yet decided upon, nor is the date fixed, but enough is known to show that it will be an historic event. The list of guests will take the name of the greatest and most distinguished men of the country. Among those who will be invited and who it is expected will attend are:

President Cleveland, Vice-President Stevenson, President-elect McKinley, Vice-President-elect Hobart, Governor Morton, Governor Binck, Mayor Strong, the governors of several states, the mayors of the principal cities, Thomas A. Edison, Nikola Tesla, and other celebrated electricians and men who have became famous in the sciences and the arts.

One thing that bothers the projectors of the enterprise is that the number of guests must be confined to 250 at the most. It is proposed to give the banquet at the Ellicott Club in Ellicott Square, which has the largest banquet hall in the city, and the seating capacity is limited to the number named.

"It is impossible to give any special detail of the arrangements of the banquet," said President Urban to-day. "As yet the details are very meager. We are working out the problems that confront us, however, and very shortly will be able to make public our complete pro- gramme."
