Many Companies Are Entertained at Dinner in the Plaza and the St. Regis.

Second Sunday Night Concert Given in the Knickerbocker, Where Several Parties Are Seen.

Sunday evening has come to be a sort of holiday time in New York, for the dwelling houses and large apartments practically throw off the formal routine of domestic living.

Mrs. William K. Vanderbilt, Jr., was one of many attractive young women in the Plaza yesterday evening. She wore a black gown and a black drooping hat adorned with a huge white feather. Mr. Vanderbilt was with her.

Mr. Oliver Harriman entertained a small party in the Plaza at a round table decorated with American Beauty roses. His principal guests were Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Perin.

Mr. William H. Van Anden has returned to the Plaza from a trip to Mexico, which he pronounced enjoyable. He and Mrs. Van Anden entertained friends at dinner yesterday evening. Others who had dinner parties in the Plaza were Mr. Frank A. Munsey, Judge and Mrs. William H. Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. James A. McCrea, Jr.; Mr. and Mrs. Ernesto G. Fabri, Mr. James B. Haggin, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Gates, Mrs. E. Moore Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick A. Valentine, Mr. and Mrs. William Baylis, Mrs. Post Wheeler, Mr. and M. Levy, Mr. Nikola Tesla, Prince Kretzulesco, Baron Carl Von Mayhoff, Mr. Alfred Kessler, Mr. Horace Waldo and the Misses Waldo, Mr. and Mrs. John Bradley Carse, Mr. R. Gordon Kellogg, Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. MacDonald, Mr. and Mrs. William Lawrence Green, Mrs. Robert C. Watson, Mr. Francis A. Watson and General Edward Meaney.

In the St. Regis the dining room was brilliant with flowers, new gowns and jewels. Some of those seen there were Mr. Christopher Painter, Mr. T. H. Lewis, of Albany, and Mr. Jesse L. Eddy, of Morristown. The three children of Mme. Anna Gould had dinner early in the evening in the palm garden. Prince Helle de Sagan called upon Mme. Gould in the St. Regis yesterday afternoon.

The second of a course of Sunday concerts was given yesterday in the Hotel Knickerbocker in the main dining room during the dinner hour. Among those entertaining was Mr. Lausanne, of Paris, whose principal guests were Count Etienne Lanel, French Consul in New York, and Countess Lanel. Others who had parties were Mr. James A. Blair, Jr.; Mr. Lawrance Waterbury, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus L. Paterson, Mr. Harold Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Woodruff.

In the Manhattan there was the usual gathering of well known persons in the restaurant, where the tables were decorated with flowers. The orchestra played many selections by request. Among those who entertained at dinner were Mr. and Judge Samuel H. Lyman, Mr. and Mrs. James G. Cannon, Mr. William B. Dana, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Coppernell, Mr. Schuyler R. Runyon, Mrs. J. A. Runyon, Mrs. A. Sydney Jarvis, Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Stevenson, Mr. and Mrs. August W. Durkee, Mr. and Mrs. B. Rush Wendell, Mrs. J. Harrington Walker, Mrs. W. L. Washington and Mrs. G. H. Knight.

Dinners were given in the Cafe Boulevard last night by Mr. Augustus H. Vanderpoel, of Tuxedo, and Mr. Newton D. Eustis, of New York. The music was excellent, as usual, including a quartet of singers.

Count and Countess Carmer, of Berlin, are at the Hotel Astor with others in the party of guests of Emperor William. They will visit West Point tomorrow.
