Homing Pigeon Takes Up Residence in Hotel Here

May 10th, 1935

A red and gray homing pigeon, apparently lost, is bothering the management of the Hotel New Yorker.

A maid discovered the pigeon yesterday fluttering about the room of Ernest Lehman of Cleveland, on the thirty-seventh floor of the hotel. The bird assumed eagle characteristics, swooping defiantly at employees who tried to catch it. Finally it took refuge in the bathroom.

If Mr. Lehman, who is away, disclaims ownership, the pigeon will be turned over to Nikola Tesla, inventor and bird fancier. Mr. Tesla is a guest at the hotel.
