The Review of Reviews for September has an interesting article upon the use of the poster in politics, with reproductions of some of the pictorial poster in a campaign in the recent elections in Great Britain. The public on this side of the water is sufficiently familiar with the political cartoon, but the use of the pictorial poster in a campaign is something which has never been practiced in this country to anything like the extent to which it is used in Great Britain, if, indeed, it has been used at all. The poster is practically a political cartoon of large size hung upon bill boards and blank walls. Among the other notable articles are: “Nikola Tesla and the Electrical Outlook,” “Industrial Niagara,” “Wind as a Motive Power in the United States,” “The Value of Weather Forecasts to Agricultural and Inland Commerce,” “Deep Waterway Transportation from the Great Lakes to the Sea,” “The Careless Construction and Willful Destruction of Buildings,” and a character sketch of Archbishop Croke of Ireland.
