Proposed Machine Will Have a Helicopter
Nikola Tesla, the inventor, has been swarded a patent on an airplane with the tilting wings of a helicopter, according to Munn & Co., patent attorneys, at 24 West Fortieth Street. No plane has been built on his plans yet, but Mr. Tesla in aid to be confident that if one were built, it would fly.
The new machine will be the long heralded air "flivver." It will be an eight-foot cube and will rise vertically. When its wings are tilted right It is supposed to fly at full speed in a straight line. There are wheels on two sides, one set for landing, the other for taking off, straight up into the aiŠ³.
