Referee in Boldt Proceedings to Recommend This Today.
RIVERHEAD, L. I., April 16. — Rowland Miles, referee, will submit to the County Clerk here tomorrow his report of the proceedings brought by Clover Boldt Miles and George C. Boldt Jr., executors of the estate of the late George C. Boldt, owner of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, to foreclose two mortgages on 200 acres of land at Shoreham, owned by Nikola Tesla, the scientist. Besides Tesla, twelve other defendants are involved.
According to the complaint, Tesla gave mortgages several years ago to Boldt, Thomas G. Sherman, and the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. In order to settle the estate, the executors brougint the proceedings. Referee Miles's decision will favor the executors and suggests that they go to court and secure an order to have the property sold. If the amount realized is not sufficient to pay the mortgages, the referee suggests that Tesla be charged with the deficiency.
