An announcement....

Effective as of August 2, 1954, the Tesla organization adopts the official title

THE TESLA SOCIETY

The objectives of the TESLA SOCIETY are, of course, coincidental with the first proposals of the Tesla organization as outlined in November, 1953 when first founded.

The principal goal for 1954 and 1955 is increased membership; — to expand the present select group into a profound following. Unquestionably, broader facilities and services, and widespread recognition coexist with a larger membership. The problem which presents itself is, therefore, subscribing new personalities into the Society as quickly as possible. Promptness in this objective is of some importance since the 100th anniversary of Tesla's birth in 1856 falls within two years. It would be particularly appropriate on the occasion of this Tesla Centenary to regain in America the recognition of Tesla that his great work here so rightfully deserves. The realization that there exists a Society of friends who share the same interest will provide a great stimulus toward the eventual success of this objective.

July (?)* this year marked the 98th anniversary of Tesla's birth...

"Lives of great men all remind us We can make our lives sublime, And, departing, leave behind us Footprints on the sands of time."
(Longfellow)
