The tower generation rooms contained boilers, holding tanks, and the electrical generator that began the transformation of energy for Tesla's special equipment. The middle room contained the holding tanks which contained the water that would be made into steam. These tanks held about 16,000 gallons of water, and they surrounded the chimney to absorb wasted heat. The room on the right was the boiler room. The boiler room contained two 300 HP boilers that transformed the burning coal into steam to be piped to the steam engine in the other room. Once the steam energy left the boiler room it was piped across to the electrical generator room on the left side of the building. This room was very important for the whole electrical energy for the plant and world power supply. In this room there was a 400 HP Westinghouse reciprocating steam engine running two generators directly connected. There was one specially designed alternator/dynamo which was the generator for Tesla's special equipment, and the other was a 35 KW dynamo also being run for the buildings basic AC power supply. In the electrical generator room there were also small blowers, high pressure compressors, switchboard, and a stair case leading to a gallery for basic hand tools.
