Electrical Sharps Meet For Their Annual Hobnobbing.

Expected That Over 200 Members of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers Will Attend the Annual Roundup at Great Barrington, Mass.

Extensive preparations have been made in Great Barrington, Mass., to entertain the annual convention of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. For the first time in its history the convention meets in a country town. Heretofore the institute has met in the great elites of the country, New York, Chicago, St. Louis and San Francisco having previously been selected.

The institute comprises the leading electrical inventors of the country. and the fact that Nikola Tesla, Edison and others of great fame bave announced their intention to be present has made Interest in the convention international.

The institute chose the Berkshire hills this year on the personal invitation of William Stanley of Great Barrington, an inventor of renown and a member of the Institute. Over 200 members of the institute, many with ladies, will enjoy the hospitality of the town. The village will be in gala dress, and illuminations by night and flags and flowers by day will serve to show the town's appreciation of the honor conferred by the Institute.

The ladies of the Thursday Morning club of Great Barrington have arranged fetes and social festivities for the entertainment of the ladies of the party.

The work of the convention begins June 18, when many papers on electrical subjects will be read. The public will be entertained by a lecture by Professor Elihu Thompson. During the convention Dr. A. E. Kennelly of Philadelphia, one of the leading physicists of the day, will address the ladies of Great Barrington, Nikola Tesla and Thomas A. Edison are also expected to deliver public lectures.

The social features of the convention include receptions, visits to various points of interest in the Berkshire hills and a grand ball at the Berkshire inn at Lenox.

An interesting feature of the convention will be the experiments with the Marconi system of telegraphy.
