Nikola Tesla Books
a good, strong glass of brandy, dissolve ten to twenty grams of quinine in it, then go to bed and fall asleep with a ringing in their ears, and in the morning they are as healthy as steel. Try it and you will see that there is no influenza.
I would write to Marija on this occasion, but I have only a few hours.
I have sent you the book in which my collected works are described. I sent one copy to each sister and uncle. My writings were compiled by an American author, and the book is enjoying splendid success. A second edition is already being printed.
I had hoped to come to Europe soon on some business, and then I would visit you. All my friends and doctors advise me to give up work and rest, but it is hard for me to leave my work now, as it is unfinished.
With my warmest greetings to you all, Yours, Nikola

Dear Uncle,
I received your two letters in due order, but I was unable to reply because of great busyness. On this occasion I only wish to respond with a few lines, which I write in haste. As for the wine, nothing so far. Therefore, as you said, all the bottles, both yours and those Uncle Trivun sent, must have burst. Do not send me Dalmatian wine in a barrel; I have already experimented with that, and it does not work. The only way would be to send Hungarian wine in bottles. A few days ago I received from the Franklin Institute a gold medal for scientific merit, and I believe I wrote to you that a university here offered me a Doctor of Philosophy degree. I know that will interest you. Everything here looks good. I am succeeding very well with several inventions and hope to finish the work soon; then I intend to come there to rest a little. With my warmest greetings to all, Yours,
Nikola

Dear Uncle,
I received your letter and Marija's today, and I write a few words in reply, and that in haste, for time is precious.
