Tesla’s Father is Sad and Does Not Rejoice in His Son’s Success

After the notable success he achieved in the first year of the Technical University, Nikola joyfully returned to Gospić for his summer break. He could hardly wait to see his father and mother, to embrace them and once again thank them for fulfilling his desire to study what he loved the most. However, he also wanted to boast to them about his accomplishments and prove to them that they had not made a mistake in supporting his greatest wish.

But Nikola was deeply disappointed when he noticed that his father did not rejoice in his success. It puzzled him why his father looked at him somewhat sadly and why he was so unresponsive and cold. He felt sorry, but he couldn’t explain to himself the reason behind his father’s demeanor and mood.

However, the father’s heart was torn by a heavy pain. In his soul, he deeply regretted his Nikola. Why? Only he knew, and he took that sorrow with him to the grave.

It was only after the unfortunate father’s death that Nikola learned about this secret and deeply mourned him because of it.
