Schneider did not smile back; he continued to look at me, then said: 'Possibly. It may be something like that.' I began to protest but Schneider stood up; the interview was at an end. 'Take the file with you and see what you can make of it. Talk to anyone you need and then write me a report.' I turned to walk to the door and heard his voice again. And let me have that report within a month or two. There's some political interest in all this it's not the sort of thing that's going to go away.' 15
