Nikola Tesla Letters
September 12th, 1899 letter from Nikola Tesla to George Scherff
Colorado Springs, Sept. 12, 1899
Dear Mr. Scherff,
Under inclosure check for $200 which will cover shop expenses and small items.
I now understand from the description the chief features of the pump. We have had pumps before embodying better new features. The controllable inlet and also the outflow is a scheme to prevent splashing. The former was built by Mr. Johannesen. The other in a number of forms by ______ยท I think every ______ Mr. Uhlman has better results because of better workmanship and general progress. I know he is behind at work and trying to do everything he can.
The progress of my work is very satisfactory. It was a very good thing for me to come here, all except financially! I wrote about some condensers last time. I hope you are making them up.
Sincerely,
N. Tesla
