In the above named application we now amend by cancelling claims 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14, and substituting the following for the claims erased: 1. The method of deriving energy from a fluid, which consists in admitting it under pressure to the peripherial portion of a rotably mounted system of plane spaced surfaces and, by its adhesive and viscous action thereon as it flows, under the combined influence of radial and tangential forces in a natural spiral path towards the axis of rotation, propelling said system. 2.
