sented, we would state that we have omitted a number of the method claims for the reason that they are regarded as unnecessary to a full protection of the invention, being mainly, different forms of expression of the same subject matter as that of the claims retained. It is not our purpose to relinquish any feature included in such claims with a view to limiting or narrowing the field which it is sought to cover, the amendment being made solely with the object of complying as far as possible with the Office requirements as to form. We desire also to make it clear that the references cited are wholly foreign to the Tesla invention and utterly barren of any suggestion of that invention, and neither anticipate nor limit it. The German Patent No. 35783. In this patent there is shown (1) a series of disks partially enclosed by a casing and having inlet and outlet ports at the periphery of the disks; (2) a series of disks completely enclosed in a casing and having inlet ports through the central shaft and outlet ports near the center of the casing; and (3) inlet ports at the periphery and outlet ports at the center of the casing. In every case, however, the disks while. spaced are corrugated radially, which has the same effect in kind, as if radial vanes or ribs were attached to the surfaces of the disks. The first and second forms may be dismissed from сси- sideration as, on their face, they are purely and simply forms of paddle wheels slightly modified from those usually employed, and have no bearing whatever on the Tesla invention.
