646 fie z Luned & il Carn Wilsor nov waves or impulses of a given kind or class, a receiving circuit controlled by the sensitive circuits and a device connected with the receiving circuit adapted to be operated when said circuit is completed by the conjoint action of two or more of the sensitive circuits, as set forth." The patent cited in the Office letter of September 26th describes, we need hardly say, a device which is wholly inoperative for the purposes of applicant's invention. There is no apparent intention on the patentee's part to secure the operation of a receiving device which is wholly dependent upon the conjoint action of two or more elements each capable of responding to one kind of disturbance only, and while it is true that one operation one of the elements of the device is dependent upon the conjoint action of two circuits, each of the latter is capable of responding to impulses of the same kind. We do not think that there is anything in the Wilson patent which suggests the idea of controlling the operation of a receiver by two or more distinctive kinds of electrical or other disturbances, simultaneously or successively transmitted in such manner as to produce such operation by their conjoint action only. The invention is obviously an important one, as it overcomes the limitations of the systems heretofore employed and enables any number of receivers to be operated selectively and exclusively without danger of any interference. We ask for a reconsideration of the application as now ки. Радех солет ally fr Jula. amended. [Portion of margin notes not legible Ed.
