PATENT OFFICE JUL 161901 MAILED Please find below a communication from the EXAMINER in charge of your application... filed July 16, 1900, Ser. No. 23,647, for Systems of Signaling. F. I. Allen. Commissioner of Patents. In response to the emendment of June 10, 1901, the following astion is had: Applicant 'a attention is called to the fact that he has used in many places throughout the specification the term "synchronize" where he manifestly intended to use the term syntonize. It is also sgested that the word "tenes used in line 18 of page 2 be changed to frequencies. The modified system suggested by applicant on page 8 of his specification, namely, that in which he speaks of certain prase relations between the discharges in the primaries P1, P2, is not understood. Since applicant specifically states that the periods of the circuits P², P3 are different it seems immaterial whether the first impulses are dephased with relation to each other because 500ceeding impulses will overlap and be in many different phase relations 647
