The applications referred to in line 18, page 8, have since the filing of this case become patents Nos. 685,953, and 685,955, Nov. 5, 1901 and should be so referred to. Applicant should explain the object of constructing the conducting holders b and b' so that they are adjustable in the metallic supports G and G' longitudinally as stated in the third line from the foot of page 8. Fage 9, line 15, "f f" should be changed to fi and in line 19 of this page and line 5 of page 11, "f" should be changed to f. On Fig. 2 f identifying the right hand segment of the drum d should be changed to f¹. Page 10, line 18, "central" should be changed to ventral. The examiner is unable to understand how the oscillations in the system E' CE being communicated to the ground can cause stationary waves because it is believed to be a fact that for the production of a stationary wave there is necessary a sharp complete reflection from a predetermined point situated at a distance from the source equal to an odd multiple of a quarter wave length.
