Nikola Tesla Articles
A Book Review of Radio Tesla
The secret of Tesla’s radio and wireless power
Radio Tesla by George Trinkaus has 37 pages with an introduction and six chapters. I put off buying this booklet, thinking just what could I learn from this relatively short publication? I was very surprised! To quote the first sentence of this booklet:
In clear English, 66 illustrations, and a minimum of math, this booklet details the peculiar radio technology of Nikola Tesla.
The chapters are well organized, and contain much valuable information. Listed in order, they are:
- High Voltage, Sudden Pulse
- Low Frequency
- Conduction through the Ground
- Resonance
- Sensitive Device
- Aerial Capacity Tank Tables
This booklet is more than a primer for radio history and technology. Trinkaus includes other obscure names from wireless lore, plenty of schematics, drawings and pictures of actual working models. At the end of every chapter is a “for more information” section with references.
I have been researching Nikola Tesla and his work for some time. The more a person studies Tesla’s work, the more one tends to be drawn into more and more complicated theories. Radio Tesla helps to keep you grounded on solid electrical principals.
This booklet doesn’t pretend to be anything other than what it is. George Trinkaus combines his education, experience, research and ties it together with some good writing, and came up with one of the best pieces available today concerning Tesla and his radio work. I highly recommend it. It is reasonably priced!
