Dr. Nikola Tesla, scientist and inventor whose eighty-second birthday is today, reported yesterday from his room at the New Yorker that he would have to wait for about two weeks before making his customary birthday party announcement of his discoveries, inventions and investigations completed during the preceding year. The postponement, Dr. Tesla explained, is necessary to finish his mechanical oscillator for exhibition at the party.
He is convinced that mechanical therapy, through this device. will prove much more important than electrical therapy, which he inaugurated in 1890. He gives a birthday party every year for friends and newspaper men; this year Dr. Tesla will announce several discoveries and inventions.
