Sheriff to Auction Costly Structure to Satinfy Small Claim.
For a debt of $199.81 the tower erected by Nikola Tesla at Wardenclyffe, L. I., is to be sold by Sheriff Wells, of Suffolk County, on Monday, Dec. 9. Any one wishing to dabble in electrical oscillations preparatory to launching wireless messages to Mars will find the Tesla tower especially fitted for the purpose.
Angist Elsenmann, through his attorney, Ralph J. Hawkins, obtained a judgment of $199.31 against the inventor and handed it to the Sheriff to execute. The Tesla property at Wardenclyffe is valuable, consisting of about 200 acres of exceedingly desirable property. The tower was built at a cost, it is said, of many thousands of dollars.
