The Tesla Motor vs. Mr. Sprague's Wishes

The experiments that have been conducted by the Westinghouse Electric Company during the last three months with the Tesla motors are said to have been very satisfactory. A form has been perfected that will work on existing alternating circuits for the running of fans and other light machinery, and also the large motors for tramcar purposes, and for power generally, have been brought to a high degree of perfection and efficiency. For tramway work the Tesla motor, having no brushes or commutator, may probably arrive at the ideal stage before Mr. Sprague attains the wished-for waterproof point, as its promotors claim that it can be constructed so that even if covered with mud and water no possible danger can occur.
