“No other place for this quality of knowledge.” (Juan Green)

“The Surplus Center, 1015 West 'O' Street, P.O. Box 82209, Lincoln, NE 65801-2209 (402) 474-4055 sells a 1/15th HP, 115 VAC motor for $13.50. The motor runs synchronous at 1800 RPM. I have been using it to drive a 7" break with 4 poles. The part number is 10-1052.” (Skip Greiner)

“Congrats on an excellent newsletter...As far as Tesla producing good, long-distance radiographs of the skull, he must have used some sort of Marx discharge apparatus into the then cold-cathode tubes. He also must have used a lead diaphragm to get a good focus from the crude earlier tubes...Louis Maury's unique Jacobs Ladder actually caught my attention as the only new approach to this Sci-Fi prop in many years...Rich Hull's explanation on page 8 is very good.” (Dan Smith)

“I thought Hull's column excellent! The most knowledgeable stuff I've read in years.” (Leland I. Anderson)

Ken Strickfaden

(Editor: Readers were offered the opportunity to comment on the photo of Ken Strickfaden (Volume 14, #4, page 18). The following are the only two that have been received).

“I liked your interpretation of the photo...he has put an aspect of himself into the machines as an expression of creativity...to see him without his machines would not be seeing him in total...since a part of his nature is in the machines.” (John Freau)

“The photo of Ken Strickfaden is great! I see it as his spirit watching over his machines. It's an interesting thought that perhaps his equipment may mysteriously activate of its own accord from time-to-time. CNN did a short piece on Ken Strickfaden about a year ago and mentioned that the machines were for sale at a price of three million dollars.” (Michael DiGregorio)
