“You started this whole thing 15 years ago and have insured your place in Tesla coil history.” (Tom Vales)

“Re-ANGELS DON'T PLAY THIS HAARP (Advances in Tesla Technology), TCBA News Volume 15, #4. The origin of this yarn dates to 1975 and the detection of a coherent-like interaction between power line radiation and particles from the earth's radiation belts. The work was carried on by a Stanford U. group headed by Dr. Robert A. Helliwell and is reported out in the Journal of Geophysical Research. Charged particles spiraling along the (Earth's) magnetic field line become amplified 1000 times before interception (at the end of the field line) in Roberval, Quebec. In sum, the Tesla attribution is arrant nonsense. A full description is destined for my AIBC Newsletter upcoming December, 1996.” (R.G. Kent, American Institute of Biomedical Climatology)

“Thank you very much for all the hard work on TCBA News. I can't even begin to know how hard you work on it or how long. Keep up the good work, my friend.” (Daniel T. Sandefur)

“You have a great publication...Keep up the good work.” (Ronald L. Gass)

“I strongly agree with Lou Balint and Mark Barton in their response to the radio frequency chokes question in Volume 15, #2, (p.5) which was raised by Herman Flynn in Volume 15, #1.” (David L Rieben)

“News of the Tesla coil at Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles requiring maintenance was disappointing. It has been an inspiration to many. One, Thomas Zutaut, when a boy, was shown this coil in operation by his father, a physicist, saying, “The technical basis for the design of this apparatus was conceived by perhaps the greatest scientist of this century - Nikola Tesla.” So, many years later “Tommy Z,” a king maker in the music industry, auditioned a rock band with the name City Kidd - a bunch of guys who jammed it up on weekends in garages. They were good. He said, “OK - I'll contract you with Geffen Records, but you've got to change the band's name. I'll give you one. TESLA.” The band members looked at each other saying, “What's that?” From then on, the band made world tours proclaiming the name of Tesla, especially with the piece, “Edison's Medicine.” Many young people may not have otherwise heard the name Tesla but for the standard-bearer name given to them by Zutaut.” (L. Anderson)

“In Volume 15, #4, Wayne R. Robey wrote that he had difficulty obtaining TESLACOL.ZIP. I found this file (A Tesla coil design program), other Tesla coil programs and information on the World Wide Web at: http:/www.eskimo.com/ bills. This web page also has links to other Tesla information. There's even a reference to TCBA!” (D.R. Blake)

“We owe you a debt which we can never really repay...if not for Harry Goldman, there would probably be no Tesla-thons...Our thanks, respect and gratitude to you.” (Anthony DeAngelis)

“The article on the restoration of the Griffith Observatory Tesla coil was very good...I had no idea that this group of fine men headed by Dick Aurandt and John Foster had done such an excellent job on the restoration. If another overhaul is needed, I will volunteer my services and money (if needed) to help any group to rework the coil.” (Robert Panichi)

“I would recommend T&R Electric as a source for transformers. They are located at Box 180, Colman, SD 57017. Tel: (800) 843-7994.” (Neil Barabas)

“It sure was nice to see the back cover of the newsletter devoted to Dick (Aurandt) and John (Foster)...I really can't articulate how pleased and amazed I am in seeing all the new innovations by the membership. It's fun to pull out the binders containing the first issues of the newsletter and see the development process. I often think about the early coil gurus who closely guarded their secrets in comparison to today's experimenters who do some real serious research, and are willing to share it for the betterment of science.” (Ed Angell)

“This issue (Vol. 15, #4), like past issues, is full of interesting Tesla lore. The articles by Steve Zeitler and John Freau are very informative. I am amazed and delighted at the unique info you come up with such as the 'Tesla's Great Ideas.' Then, there is the reference to Don Lancaster who still does not know the difference between a flyback transformer and a Tesla coil transformer. I got a chuckle out of your correct reply to 'the 12-inch spark on only 10 watts.' Always enjoy the TCBA News and I hope you can continue to find the time and energy to publish it.” (Jack Couture)
