Testifies in Suit That He Is One of the Greatest Men of the Age.
Patchogue, Long Island, Nov. 25. — Nikola Tesla considers himself one of the greatest men of the age, and so testified yesterday before Justice Jaycox, of the Supreme Court, in a suit brought by a former workman for wages due. Frank N. Clark, of Port Jefferson, formerly employed by Tesla at his plant at Wardenclyffe as a machinist, sued the inventor for $889.25 for wages alleged to be due. Tesla admitted having offered to settle by paying Clark $50 down and $12 a week.
Clark's counsel asked Tesla if he was an inventor and promoter. Tesla said he was not a promoter and never received a fee, but that he was an inventor and could take rank among the foremost men of the age. Clark won his case.
