Tesla's Work in Colorado - Trying to Solve the Problem of Transmitting Power Long Distances Without Wires

COLORADO SPRINGS, Col., Sept. 19. — Nikola Tesla is hard at work in his experimental station here for twelve or more hours a day. Mr. Tesla regards the problem of wireless telegraphy as virtually settled. His time for four months past has been devoted to perfecting inventions for the application of wireless telegraphy. He is also absorbed in working out the problem of transmitting power long distances without the use of wires. He says he discovered several years ago the principle of power transmission. He is now at work to regulate that power.

Mr. Tesla is satisfied with the results of his four months' work. He is pleased with the opportunity afforded in the upper air strata found here. When he came here he expected to return to New York by September. He now says he will not return for two months or longer, unless on a hurried business trip.
